We built CityChat because we missed the feeling of community that the early internet had. Remember AOL chatrooms? The excitement of talking to strangers who lived near you?
Social media today is global, algorithmic, and optimized for outrage. We wanted something different—a place where you could just talk to people in your city without followers, likes, or an algorithm deciding what you see.
CityChat is simple by design. Pick your city, join the chat. Everyone in your area is in the same room. Talk about local news, find events, meet neighbors, or just hang out in voice rooms late at night.
We believe the best conversations happen when everyone has an equal voice. No influencers, no verification badges, no popularity contests. Just your city, talking.
